About Us
The USF Logic Model team brings expertise from those who have worked with communities across the nation to develop their theories of change and develop logic models. Adding to this capacity, members of the Department of Child and Family Studies ensure this site's content is accessible, using the most current information and technologies. Mario Hernandez, PhD Mario is Professor and Chair of the Department of Child & Family Studies at the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute, College of Behavioral & Community Sciences, University of South Florida. He has over 20 years of experience working with systems of care to facilitate planning, evaluation, and implementation. He initiated approaches to system of care development that include the use of theories of change and logic models for community planning, and the use of the System of Care Practice Review (SOCPR) for quality monitoring.
Kathleen Ferreira, PhD Kathleen is an Assistant in Research at the Chair of the Department of Child & Family Studies at the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute, College of Behavioral & Community Sciences, University of South Florida. She currently serves as Co-Investigator for Phases VI, and VII of the CMHI National Evaluation with IFC Macro, specific to assisting communities in the development and use of theory-driven logic models to build community capacity for system development. She is also Co-Investigator for a 4-year evaluation of the federally funded Healthy Transitions Initiative. In addition, Kathleen is completing a research study examining the roles of families in system level service planning and delivery decisions through a secondary analysis of data from Holistic Studies of System of Care Implementation. This project will result in a framework for implementing family driven care at the system level as well as a rubric to outline specific strategies and performance measures to assess progress.
Sandra Dwinell Sandra is an Assistant Director in the Department of Child & Family Studies at the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute, College of Behavioral & Community Sciences, University of South Florida.. As supervisor of the CFS Communications Unit, Sandra is responsible for the coordination of the department’s knowledge dissemination activities. Her duties include the oversight and direction of the Communications Unit staff as well as project management, administration, event planning, and marketing. Sandra also serves as the USF Project Coordinator for the National Evaluation. Her responsibilities include project management, direction, and coordination of activities relating to the National Evaluation project through the Macro grant. Sandra, a graduate of the University of South Florida, has been employed with the University for over five years and brings her strong background in project management, planning, and organization to the department.
Victor Trinidad Victor is a Communications and Marketing Officer in the Department of Child & Family Studies at the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute, College of Behavioral & Community Sciences, University of South Florida. provides technical assistance and graphic support for the Logic Model Project. He works directly with sites to portray their ideas in a logic model and develops PowerPoint presentations for them to use with stakeholder audiences. Mr. Trinidad is also responsible for desktop publishing and website development for the Division of Training, Research, Education, and Demonstration in the Department of Child & Family Studies at the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute, University of South Florida.
